Amano Takashi, the 5th generation of Amano Kouya, spent his childhood learning and mastering the art of indigo dye which has been passed down for generations. Set in a traditional Japanese house, each step in feels like a step back into time. With centuries-old equipment and traditional dyeing methods, it feels like time stood still. Made organically from plant extracts and fermented over years, the natural colour does not fade and stains. Each colour takes time and multiple dyes to attain the right colour before being made into lifestyle goods.
